Who Will Stop the Madness?

Again, emotion rules the world. Right?

But then again, maybe it is all about fear. Invoking it, wallowing in it, spreading it, but never overcoming it.

I have said that if a program was put in place to compel, yes, compel, employers to add to their workforce - to re-evaluate the overload most staffs I'm aware of are operating under as "business as usual" - we would avoid a recession.

The reason the debt limit was needed is because the economy sucks. I wish those Congressional grandstanders would spend as much time on that as they did dicking around about the phone debt issue.

From today's NYT: With consumer confidence on a knife’s edge and orders slipping, employers have been reluctant to add workers. “We just don’t see where there is much incentive for companies to ramp up hiring at a time when there’s so much uncertainty gripping the country,” said Bernard Baumohl, chief global economist with the Economic Outlook Group.
